Each 45-minute interactive storytelling session will excite and enthrall your children as stories and characters are brought to life by a well-known storyteller, Shanthini Venugopal. Suitable for children between ages 4 to 7.

Creating Stories Holiday Camp

A collaboration between COSMOTOTS-iqd and Shanthini Venugopal of The Jumping JellyBeans Daily from 28th November to 2nd December OR 5th December to 9th December 2016. (Available only at COSMOTOTS-iqd Subang).

This school holiday, let your children experience storytelling in a whole new way! In this 5-day camp, children will learn new skills on creating their own stories, writing them down as well as producing their own artwork. On the last day of the camp, parents will be invited and students will showcase their stories

Background

Shanthini Venugopal is a singer, actor, director, and teacher in the theatre industry for over three decades. Her own theatre company The Jumping Jellybeans (JJB), was formed in 2003 specialising in productions for children.

Shanthini is also a pioneer member of The Instant Cafe Theatre Co. since 1989 and still performs in their revue type shows. She had a major role in ‘Chow Kit Road! Chow Kit Road!’ The Musical’ (Masakini Production) staged at istana Budaya in May 2013 and ‘Nunsense’ (Gardener & Wife production) staged at PJ Live Arts. She has participated as a storyteller in various festivals. In 2014 & 2015, she was invited to be a judge for storytelling at the Asean English Olympic. In 2015, she was appointed as lecturer to teach a co-curriculum programme at University Malaya. She can be seen on ASTRO TV as “Auntie English”.

Pre-Schoolers Camp

This course is crafted to help little ones:

• improve their ability to communicate verbally
• enhance their basic reading skills
• familiarise themselves with a variety of English sentence patterns

These classes are designed to jump-start the phonics-apply-ability of little ones who have not achieved a passable reading fluency and who would therefore benefit from some fun revision.

This holiday course is highly recommended for children aged four to six.

Creative Reading Camp

At COSMOTOTS-iqd, we believe our primary school kids should be able to read beyond JK Rowling and her Harry Potter. We think they should be introduced to a wide variety of equally if not more gripping authors. Why not go continental this year-end holiday and tease your child’s first step towards becoming an international citizen?

Creative Writing Camp

At COSMOTOTS-iqd, we believe that a student who can write good essays is a student who has been equipped with a whole range of vital, transferable skills:

• Effective writers will have the discipline to pursue a single line of thought.
• They will be adept at critical thinking, which is the ability to distinguish between good and bad arguments
• They will know how to utilise their creativity in order to generate new ideas.
• They will be able to communicate in a clear and compelling manner.

Our writing classes are built around interactive, fast-paced discussions. We also make sure that the material we cover is stimulating and sufficiently different from school work.

This holiday course is highly recommended for students aged nine to fourteen.
